Ever, since I was a little girl, I dreamed of being a public figure. For many years, I craved of going to Mexico to study acting in the CEA, Televisa, a renowned institution of this country. My desire was to be able to get in the CEA after finishing high school, but for different reasons it wasn’t possible. Being one of these reasons, my mom’s fear of being separated from me at such a young age (16 years old).
Later on, I ventured into the world of modeling. While still living in Santo Domingo I auditioned in the Miss Dominican Republic Universe and I was selected to participate. I was going to represent my dad’s city, San Jose de Ocoa, which is located at the South region of the island. Regardless of my huge desire for participating, and my dad’s effort for acquiring sponsors, I couldn’t participate due to the fact that I was supposed to come to live to Miami at that time, and also due to financial inconveniences.
When already living in Miami, my desire for being an actress was still there, and to me, becoming a model seemed like a ladder towards that field. Also, I used to get a lot of compliments for my height (5’11) and physical appearance. There was a number of people encouraging me to go into modeling. Therefore, I went to John Casablancas, a modeling school, later I went to the Adriana Barraza’s acting school, and even though, I was only able to attend for a couple of months, I met really nice people there, including a friend who belonged to a modeling agency and hooked me up.
Once, I auditioned for Nuestra Belleza Latina too, but I was not selected. I was also attending Miami Dade College and working for a retail store. After years of hard work and a lot of sacrifices trying to learn English and make it through my associate degree, I finally graduated. I obtained an associate in arts degree in mass communications. Then, I transfer to Florida International University, where I’m currently a senior student, seeking a bachelor’s in science degree in public relations, advertising and applied communications.
Since I have always been attracted by the entertainment industry, my initial intention was to study journalism, but the fear of failure forced me to change my mind. Even though, the thought of “what if,” is always in my mind, I am very happy with my selection. Today, I can say that I am passionate about marketing, advertising, public relations and all its ramifications. I have developed a passion for photography that I never felt before and also, for something I had lost a long time ago, the passion for drawing and painting.
I am the mother of a beautiful, soon to be, three years old boy; and the wife of a wonderful man, whom I met while working in aviation as a flight attendant.
